LMT MRGG-A 6.5CM 14.5" SBR

LMT’s entry for US SOCOM’s MRGG-A program is now available to the public.

Originally developed to meet the evolving demands of U.S. Special Operations, the Mid-Range Gas Gun – Assaulter rifle was designed to deliver compact sniper-level performance in a versatile, hard-use platform. Now offered commercially, the MRGG-A carries forward the features that built LMT’s reputation—along with meaningful enhancements.

The rifle retains its uninterrupted Picatinny top rail and true monolithic upper receiver, precision-machined from a single billet of 7075-T6 aluminum. A forward assist has been added, paired with a notched bolt carrier for enhanced functionality. LMT’s patented dual locking cross-bolt system continues to secure the barrel, allowing for straightforward servicing and compatibility with most MWS .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrels.

At its core, the MRGG-A ships with a 14.5-inch stainless steel 6.5 Creedmoor barrel featuring a 1:8 twist. Proprietary coatings and cryogenic treatment contribute to exceptional accuracy and extended barrel life straight out of the box.

The bolt carrier group remains LMT’s proven hard chrome-plated design. Dual ejectors ensure consistent, positive ejection of both .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor cartridges, while the newly notched carrier enables forward-assist operation.

Completing the system is LMT’s fully ambidextrous MARS-H lower receiver, providing left- and right-handed shooters equal access to critical controls including the safety, magazine release, and bolt catch. A flared magazine well further enhances reload speed and ease of use.
